A memorandum of cooperation between Shiraz University and the Fund for Supporting Researchers and Technologists of the country has been signed.
According to the public relations office of Shiraz University, the memorandum of cooperation between Shiraz University and the Fund for Supporting Researchers and Technologists of the country (affiliated with the Iran National Science Foundation) aims to utilize the capabilities of specialized personnel and leverage existing research capacities.
This memorandum, consisting of nine articles and spanning a duration of three years, was signed by Dr. Ali Mohammad Soltani (head of the Fund for Supporting Researchers and Technologists of the country) and Dr. Mohammad Moazeni (dean of Shiraz University).
Dr. Mehdi Eskrochi, the Director of Technology Affairs and Applied Projects at Shiraz University, explained that focusing on mission-oriented research and supporting universities and research institutions with special missions in solving the country's problems and leveraging regional and local opportunities is of significant importance. this memorandum has been signed to support scientific research and foster research interactions and collaborations.
He further elaborated on the content of this memorandum, stating that the Fund's support for outstanding researchers at universities with special research missions includes research chairs, research projects, post-doctoral programs, doctoral dissertations, and master's theses in the areas of new energy and energy security, cultivation and processing of medicinal plants, food security, and national identity and Iranian lifestyle.
Dr. Eskrochi continued by outlining the objectives of this memorandum, including encouraging the university to identify and define research missions, directing distinguished university faculty towards specific university missions, implementing upcoming research projects at the forefront of knowledge, and providing financial and moral support to university researchers in addressing societal issues through focused research endeavors.
According to Dr. Eskrochi, based on the agreement reached in this memorandum, the university commits to introducing university researchers to the research institution and submitting research proposals under the guidelines for implementing mission-oriented programs with universities and research institutions of the Fund in two specified time frames each year (in Ordibehesht and Azar). Additionally, the university has pledged to consider memorandum-based projects as incentives for professors, post-doctoral researchers, and master's degree students, and submit the top and selected university projects to the Fund.
He added: The Fund for Supporting Researchers and Technologists of the country has also committed to reviewing and practically evaluating the introduced university projects through a specialized working group according to the Fund's guidelines and, upon final approval, proceeding with contract signing and financial support up to the approved budget level.
