The commemoration ceremony and awarding of the first Qotb al-Din Shirazi Scientific reward in the field of astronomy and astrophysics was held on the second day of the National Astronomy and Astrophysics Conference, hosted by Shiraz University.

This event took place on Wednesday afternoon, February 6, in the conference hall of the Homa Hotel in Shiraz, attended by a group of national and provincial officials, academics, astronomers, and physicists from Iran and abroad. During the ceremony, the book "Tuhfat al-Shahiyah," a valuable piece by Allameh Qotb al-Din Shirazi, was unveiled, and Professor Yousef Saboti, a distinguished figure in Iranian physics and a senior professor at Shiraz University, was honored for his scientific contributions. Additionally, the first Qotb al-Din Shirazi Scientific Award was given to Dr. Sohrab Rahvar, a physics professor and member of the cosmology group at Sharif University of Technology.

The book "Tuhfat al-Shahiyah," is a translation of the manuscript of "Al-Tuhfat al-Shahiyah," one of the most important works of Allameh Qotb al-Din Shirazi in the field of celestial science. This precious manuscript, dated back to 728 AH, is preserved in the University of Isfahan Library under number 219/2. The book, supported by the Cultural, Social, and Sports Organization of Shiraz Municipality, is published with an introduction by Dr. Abolqasem Rahmani, a professional member of the Iranian Astronomy Association
