During the second meeting of the "Iran-Iraq Science Week," cooperation agreements were signed between Shiraz University and various Iraqi universities. According to the public relations office of Shiraz University, during the second "Iran-Iraq Science Week," which has been hosted by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the holy city of Karbala since January 17, the head of Shiraz University met the heads of reputable Iraqi universities and signed six cooperation agreements aimed at strengthening scientific and research relations and providing a platform for the exchange of experiences in various scientific and technological fields.
The head of Shiraz University stated that the cooperation agreements involve six Iraqi universities: Mosul, Babel, Karbala, Kufa, Al-Qadisiyah, and Tikrit, covering various fields to enhance scientific, research, and technological collaboration.
Dr. Moazeni announced that the signed agreements include programs for faculty and student exchanges, organizing joint scientific exhibitions, and collaboration on research projects. The parties also agreed to cooperate in areas such as digital education, food security, biotechnology, information technology, water resource management, and other scientific fields.
He noted that this meeting and the resulting agreements represent an effective step in developing scientific and academic relations between Iran and Iraq and will contribute to enhancing international cooperation in scientific and technological fields.
It is worth mentioning that the Iran-Iraq Science Week will take place from January 17 to 20, 2024, at Al-Zahra University in Karbala, attended by the Ministers of Science from the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq, other higher education officials from both countries, and a number of university heads, with the goal of expanding scientific, research, and technological cooperation between the two nations.
