50 Researchers from Shiraz University Among the Top 2% Most Cited Researchers Worldwide in 2024

According to the public relations office of Shiraz University, based on the latest report from Elsevier for 2024 on the citation performance of researchers (analyzing the performance in 2023), which is published based on citation metrics derived from the Scopus database, 50 researchers from Shiraz University rank among the top 2% most cited researchers globally.

The citation metrics include the h-index, citations to papers, and a composite score, presented at two levels: citation performance over a career (Table 1) and citation performance for the year 2024 (Table 2). The citation criteria are analyzed with and without self-citations. Researchers with at least 5 published papers are included in the analyses and classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields. The global ranking of researchers is determined based on the composite score (excluding self-citations).
