According to the Public Relations Department of Shiraz University, in the recent news from the Islamic World Science and Technology Monitoring and Citation Institute ranking group, Shiraz University has been ranked 230th globally and 2nd nationally in the field of agriculture.

Shiraz University has also achieved the 160th world rank in agriculture, forestry and fisheries; 206th in other fields of agricultural sciences; 300th-251st in agricultural biotechnology as well as chemical engineering; 301st-350th in civil and mechanical engineering; 401st-450th and 501st-600th in chemistry as well as electrical and electronic engineering; and 700th-601st in mathematics.

The ISC Ranking group has published the results of its 2022 subject rankings. The ISC Ranking System has carried out the ranking of world universities based on subject areas for the first time in 2020. The first version of the ranking, titled ISC World University Rankings by Subject, was published for world universities in 2019, and this year it has been rolled out for the fourth year in a row.

The OECD hierarchical classification scheme is used for ISC world ranking by subject. All areas covered by this plan are classified in six main categories and 42 subcategories. The six major areas covered in this program are: Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Medicines and Health, Agriculture Science, Social Sciences and Humanities.

In the ISC Subject Ranking, the target universities for ranking in any subject area are universities that are among the world's top 700 in terms of the number of publications in that area, and have published at least 150 publications in each subject area over a three-year period and have submitted the publications in the Incites database.
