In order to initiate international collaborations in terms of shared academic projects in the field of history and archeology, Dr. Mohammad Saber Khaghaninejad, Head of Shiraz University International Affairs, met Prof. Pierfrancesco Callier, the prominent Italian archeologist and ISMEO (The International Association for Mediterranean and Oriental Studies) representative.
In this meeting Prof. Callier talked about Italy University's interest and readiness in pursuing academic collaborations with Shiraz University, and as the representative of that university, managed to extend Erasmus Agreement for two more years.
Prof. Callier, whom so far have had played an important role in Persepolis excavations and renovations, will be staying at Shiraz for two months along with one of his PhD candidates, Paulo Severi. Therefore, following Dr. Alireza Askari's suggestions, this Italian archaeologist will be holding workshops and seminars in Shiraz University during his stay.
