Shiraz University has been ranked among the world's top Oil and Mechanical Engineering universities.
As reported by Islamic Science Citation (ISC) database, QS World University Rankings has recently released its twelfth annual report. In 2022, QS ranked the world's top universities in five general areas of natural science, engineering and technology, biology and medicine, art and humanities, covering 51 subjects; and many Iranian universities made it to the list in 18 different fields.
QS annually evaluates world's universities using four major metrics of Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Academic Citations, and H-Indexes which are believed to effectively capture a university's performance. Moreover, each metric, depending on a certain subject area, is weighted differently. Portion of QS's evaluative information comes from Scopus database, and part of it is attained from surveys' findings.
In 2022, QS World University Rankings announced Shiraz University as one of the world's top oil universities, ranking in between 101-150.
QS, also, ranked Shiraz University in between 501-520 in mechanical engineering.
