انجمن علمی گردشگری و هتلداری دانشگاه شیراز ، با اهداف تحکیم پیوندهای نظام آموزش عالی با بخش های مختلف جامعه و افزایش تعاملات میان دانشگاه و صنعت؛ همچنین تقویت فرهنگ گردشگری در جامعه با همکاری معاونت فرهنگی و دانشجویی و روابط عمومی دانشگاه شیراز، در یازدهمین نمایشگاه بین المللی گردشگری پارس همچون سال های گذشته حضوری فعال داشت.
یازدهمین نمایشگاه گردشگری و دوازدهمین نمایشگاه صنایع دستی پارس آذرماه امسال، با حضور ارزیابان شورای جهانی صنایع دستی و فعالان این حوزه، در محل دائمی نمایشگاه های بین المللی فارس در شیراز به مدت چهار روز برگزار گردید و ٢ ارزیاب شورای صنایع دستی جهان نیزدر نمایشگاه حضور داشتند.
جایگاه انجمن علمی گردشگری و هتلداری دانشگاه شیراز در سالن حافظ واقع شده بود. در این دوره، غرفه انجمن علمی پذیرای بازدیدکنندگانی از حوزه دانشگاه و صنعت ، از جمله دکتر حسین اربابی، معاون اسبق سرمایه گذاری میراث فرهنگی، صنایع دستی و گردشگری کشور و رئیس کانون جهانگردی و اتومبیل رانی جمهوری اسلامی ایران ، آقای مصطفی فاطمی، مدیر کل میراث فرهنگی، صنایع دستی و گردشگری استان یزد، دکتر جواد تشخوریان، مدیر حوزه ریاست و روابط عمومی دانشگاه شیراز، دکتر پرویز رستم زاده معاونت محترم دانشجویی و فرهنگی دانشکده اقتصاد، مدیریت و علوم اجتماعی، مهندس موید محسن نژاد، معاونت محترم میراث فرهنگی، صنایع دستی و گردشگری استان فارس، به همراه اساتید بخش گردشگری و هتلداری ، سایر دانشگاهیان و نمایندگان برخی از شرکت ها و موسسات فعال در حوزه گردشگری، مراکز و موسسات آموزشی و راهنمایان تور بود.
در طول برگزاری نمایشگاه جلساتی با مسئولان و فعالان این صنعت توسط استاد مشاور و انجمن علمی گردشگری و هتلداری برگزار شد.
در این جلسات بر نقش و اهمیت دانشگاه به عنوان قطب علمی در صنعت گردشگری تاکید و تصمیماتی درباره همکاری های آتی اخذ گردید.
در ادامه نمایشگاه با کوشش انجمن علمی گردشگری و هتلداری و تشکل میراث جاویدان پارس بوم و با همکاری اداره کل میراث فرهنگی، صنایع دستی و گردشگری استان فارس، شرکت نمایشگاه های بین المللی و انجمن علمی بخش جغرافیای دانشگاه شیراز کارگاه آموزشی« قطب نما، جهت یابی در طبیعت، نقشه خوانی و جی پی اس» با حضور جمع کثیری از دانشجویان و دانش آموختگان گردشگری و جغرافیا و سایر علاقه مندان برگزارگردید.
