به گزارش خبرگزاری صدا و سیما، مرکز فارس، دبیر پنجاهمین کنفرانس ریاضی ایران گفت: نخستین همایش ریاضی ایران به ابتکار دانشگاه شیراز در سال 1349 برگزار شد و اکنون پس از نیم قرن، پنجاهمین همایش نیز به میزبانی این دانشگاه شیراز در حال برگزاری است. دکتر فرشید عبداللهی با بیان اینکه در 50 سال گذشته اولین، پنجمین، پانزدهمین و بیست و هفتمین همایش ریاضی ایران به میزبانی دانشگاه شیراز برگزار شده است، افزود: همزمان با برگزاری این همایش از پروفسور جواد بهبودیان، مرحوم پروفسور منوچهر وصال و دکتر بهزاد از پایه گذاران انجمن ریاضی ایران تجلیل می شود. استاد ریاضی دانشگاه شیراز، خروج از قالب های سنتی و توجه ویژه به کاربرد ها و فناوری های نوین را از ویژگی های این همایش برشمرد و گفت: ریاضیات صنعتی، نظریه اطلاعات کوانتومی، ریاضیات پزشکی، ریاضیات مالی و نقش ریاضیات در کارآفرینی و دانشگاه های نسل سوم و نیز آنالیز ریاضی، جبر، هندسه، آنالیز عددی، احتمال و کاربردها، معادلات دیفرانسیل، علوم کامپیوتر و کارآفرینی از محور های پنجاهمین همایش ریاضی ایران است. دکتر عبداللهی ادامه داد: این همایش با حضور بیش از هزار نفر از ریاضی دانان، اساتید و دانشجویان تحصیلات تکمیلی رشته ریاضی از سراسر کشور و 11 سخنران از کشور های آمریکا، انگلیس، آلمان، جمهوری چک و ترکیه برگزار شده است. وی با بیان اینکه حدود 800 مقاله به دبیرخانه همایش ارسال شد، افزود: در مدت چهار روز برگزاری همایش حدود 276 مقاله به صورت سخنرانی و 136 مقاله در قالب پوستر ارائه می شود. دکتر عبداللهی برگزاری کارگاره های مدل سازی ریاضی، حل مسئله و بهبود روش تدریس و میزگرد بررسی کتاب های درسی با حضور مولفان و دبیران آموزش و پرورش از برنامه های این گردهمایی علمی است. در دومین روز از برگزاری پنجاهمین همایش ریاضی، همایش ملی پاسداشت نخبگی با هدف تکریم از دو شخصیت علمی و برجسته علوم ریاضی پروفسور جواد بهبودیان و مرحوم پروفسور منوچهر وصال برگزار خواهد شد.
