In the QS 2024 ranking, among the 7 Iranian universities included in the ranking, Shiraz University has been placed at 681-690 while making progress on improving its position in the ranking system.
According to Public Relations Department, based on the latest published results of QS Ranking System, entitled QS World Rankings 2024, Shiraz University is ranked 681-690 globally and 5th nationally out of 7 Iranian universities included in this ranking.
The QS Ranking system is one of the most reliable international ranking systems conducted by the British Quacquarelli Symonds Company, and is the only ranking of its kind that emphasizes employment outcomes and sustainability.
As for this year's rankings, QS wrote: "In this year's rankings, we implemented our largest-ever methodological enhancement, introducing three new metrics: Sustainability, Employment Outcomes and International Research Network.
The ranking surveyed almost 1,500 universities from 104 regions of the world. Out of seven Iranian universities in the 2024 rankings, Sharif University of Technology has the national first place with the 334 world ranking, followed by Tehran University with 360 world ranking in the second national position. Amirkabir University of Technology with the rank of 375, Iran University of Science and Technology with 451, Shiraz with 681-690, Shahid Beheshti with 951-1000 and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (as its first year of being in QS ranking) with 1001-1200 are respectively ranked from third to seventh nationally.
As shown in the table below, in comparison with other Iranian universities included in this ranking, Shiraz University has been ranked with a rating of 690-681 and is the second largest university in the country after Tehran University.
