Shiraz University's Sustainable Development Field Ranks Third Nationally and Among the World's Top 550 Universities


As reported by public relations of Shiraz University, based on the latest edition of the global sustainability ranking from the "Q. S.", published in 2022, Shiraz University is ranked as the third national university and recognized as one of the top institutions in the world capable of being among 550 sustainable universities given in this list.

As reported by public relations of Shiraz University, based on the latest edition of the global sustainability ranking from the "Q. S.", published in 2022, Shiraz University is ranked as the third national university and recognized as one of the top institutions in the world capable of being among 550 sustainable universities given in this list.

  According to the 2023 edition of the global sustainability ranking system "Q. S." the three universities of Tehran, Amirkabir Industrial, and Shiraz were placed among the top 700 universities and scientific institutes worldwide which excel concerning sustainable development, especially in environmental and social fields.

  It should be noted that the QS Sustainability Rankings, in addition to the general ranking of universities, have evaluated the performance of universities in the field of social and environmental sustainability in the form of a sub-ranking system named sustainability ranking. The first current year results of this evaluation focusing on 700 universities have been published and their ability to deal with environmental and social challenges has been evaluated. The indicators are divided into two groups: environmental sustainability measures (sustainable institutions, education, and research) and social impact (equality, knowledge exchange, educational impact, job creation and opportunities, and quality of life).

  In this evaluation, only 3 universities from Iran have made it to this ranking. The University of Tehran with a global ranking of 401-450 is in first place and the Amirkabir University of Technology and Shiraz University are in second and third places with a ranking of 501-550.
