International Students
Instruction for Prospective International Students of Shiraz University
General Requirements:
- A valid passport from the candidate's country of citizenship
- The approval of the Student Affairs Organization to study as an international student in an Iranian institute of higher education. (See application links below)
- The approval of the Student Affairs Organization in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Specific Conditions:
- Official certificates and transcripts of the candidates' latest higher education degree, indicating the complete fulfillment of their course of study
- All required documents (listed below) must be translated into Persian and English, and legally certified, at the embassy or consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the candidate's country of residency
- The applicants' admission to Shiraz University, in all levels, is subject to the written approval of the University's Vice-Chancellor of Education, as well as the approval of the relevant department and faculty. PhD applicants are particularly advised to obtain the respective department's approval by submitting a statement of intent and attending an interview with members of the faculty.
- All international students at Shiraz University are required to pass a six-month Persian language program with the University's Persian Language Training Center. Subject to the department's approval, applicants are allowed to study, and submit their dissertations in English after they are formally admitted to the required program.
Required Documents:
- Applicants must log in the website of the Student Affairs Organization, and complete the application form for admission, available at http://old.saorg.ir:8081/Application.php
- Submission of original diplomas and certificates, and their certified copies. Certificates must indicate the completion of prerequisite programs besides official transcripts.
- Presenting a valid passport, and certified copies of the first page, and visa pages of the passport.

After filling out the application form (available here), submit it along with the above required documents as a single PDF file and email it to persian@shirazu.ac.ir
Services provided by consulate of non-Iranian university students community (admitted students and non-Iranian students)
- Issuing student visa for newcomers.
- Issuing residence, exit re-entry visa, final exit visa, residence renewal and transfer.
- Submitting permit to the related higher education institutes as registration confirmation for language learners.
- Filling and submitting municipal forms for students residing in Iran prior to obtaining passport.
- Surveying dormitories and university consulate offices of the state.
Required documents for issuance of student visa:
- The university's letter of acceptance together with the tracking code received from www.saorg.ir
- Scan copy of the passport documents as well as the personal profile picture (according to the predefined format)
- Having Specified the place at which the student visa was obtained.
Required documents for issuance of student residence permit:
- Student visa.
- Student Certificate obtained from current place of study.
- Three 3*4 personal photos.
- Passport.
- Residence permit fee.
Required documents for visa extension:
- Student Certificate obtained from current place of study.
- Two 3*4 personal photos.
- Passport.
- Student Visa.
- Visa extension fee.
Required documents for issuance of exit re-entry visa:
- Student Certificate obtained from current place of study.
- Two 3*4 personal photos.
- Passport.
- Exit visa fee.
*Please note that, for all the above-mentioned purposes, the consulate office has to be contacted fifteen days prior to the due date.
Required documents for issuance of the final exit visa and the degree certificate document:
- Applying for exit visa at least one month prior to their graduation.
- Passport.
- Two 3*4 personal photos.
- Final exit visa fee.
