Executive Instructions for Using the Services of the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory of Shiraz University

  1. Eligibility and Priority:
    • The services of the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory are provided, in order of priority, to professors and graduate students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology, followed by professors and graduate students of Shiraz University, and then to other applicants outside the university.
  2. Fees and Discounts:
    • Cognitive Sciences Laboratory services are offered with discounts for professors and students of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology, as well as for professors and students of Shiraz University. External applicants are charged at market rates. Discounts require an approved proposal submitted to the relevant department and faculty.
  3. Equipment Use:
    • The use of laboratory tools and equipment is carried out by the relevant expert. Students in the field of cognitive sciences who have completed the laboratory course are exempt from this requirement.
  4. Responsibility for Equipment:
    • The responsibility for any damage to the devices, equipment, and software of the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory during use lies with the relevant applicant.
  5. Ethics Approval:
    • The authorization of the valid ethics committee, along with the applicant's request to use the Lab services, must be uploaded to the laboratory website at https://shirazu.ac.ir/web/coglab.
  6. Registration Process:
    • To use the laboratory, log in to the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory website of Shiraz University at https://shirazu.ac.ir/web/coglab, register from the registration process menu, and complete the registration form. Upload attachments including the approved proposal along with the number and date of registration of the proposal in the department and the faculty research council in PDF format, the code of ethics, the form related to the desired device, and the signed commitment letter related to the device. Receive a tracking code after ensuring that the registration form is completed and saved.
  7. Participant Coordination:
    • The number of participants, the number and hours of sessions for using the devices must be specified accurately. The researcher is responsible for coordinating the project regarding the presence of participants, and the laboratory has no obligation in this regard.
  8. Proposal Review and Approval:
    • After registering the application, the documents (proposal, form, and code of ethics) are reviewed by the specialized committee of the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory of Shiraz University (response time is 7 to 14 working days). If the proposal is approved, a message is sent to the researcher confirming the application and specifying the deposit amount.
  9. Scheduling and Coordination:
    • After the deposit amount is approved by the laboratory expert, the date and time of the researcher's use are announced through the same system. The coordination and schedule for using the laboratory should be delivered to the laboratory manager at least one month before the start of the test, along with a letter from the supervisor.
  10. Working Hours:
    • The laboratory's working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays (Saturday to Wednesday). Using the laboratory after working hours is allowed with an additional fee. The laboratory is closed on Thursdays and Fridays.
  11. Equipment Transport:
    • Transporting portable laboratory equipment is possible under specific conditions and upon depositing a deposit determined at the discretion of the laboratory management.
  12. Cancellation Policy:
    • If you are unable to attend on the day and date provided, you must notify the laboratory expert 48 hours in advance. Otherwise, the possibility of registering a new day and time is outside the project process, and the financial consequences are the responsibility of the researcher.
