The vast employment of electricity and its role in the advancement of science and technology has led to increasing investment in scientific activity and research in this area. At the same time, the 21st century is certainly the era of computer, communication and exchange of information.

At the same time, the 21st century is certainly the era of computer, communication and exchange of information. Computer engineering and science is not only an important field of study but it has also greatly affected other fields of study. Now few fields of study can be imagined to be independent of computer science, and it is almost impossible to do research in any other field of study without computer tools. Computer is vastly used not only in universities, research centers and industries, but also in offices, schools, stores and homes such that no other tool can currently replace it. Accordingly, in order to promote the departments of electricity and computer, the school of computer and electrical engineering, approved by Shiraz University administration Board, was founded in 1378, comprising departments of communication and electronics, power and control, computer engineering and science and information technology.
