According to the Public Relations Office of Shiraz University, during the visit of the Vice President for Research and Technology of Shiraz University and the accompanying delegation to Russia, a joint meeting took place between the Shiraz University delegation and the president and administrators of Saint Petersburg Mining University. The purpose of the meeting was to examine capacities and exchange views regarding the continuation of relations between the two universities.
In this meeting, Professor Vladimir Litvinenko provided an analytical overview of the responsibilities of both universities in responding to the needs of the industries in both countries under current conditions. He emphasized the necessity of creating added value and achieving technology for the production of final products from natural and mineral resources to prevent raw material exportation. He also highlighted the role of universities in completing this chain.
Professor Vladimir Litvinenko presented an advanced model for training specialized human resources at this university, recognized as a leading institution in Russia, discussing recent changes in its doctoral programs and faculty promotions. He expressed hope that the expansion of cooperation between the two universities would lead to the training of human resources with technical and operational capabilities for both countries.
Following this, Dr. Ali Hafizi, Vice President for Research and Technology of Shiraz University, expressed gratitude for the hospitality of Saint Petersburg Mining University in hosting a summer school attended by students from Shiraz University. He announced the upcoming winter school organized by Shiraz University, which will welcome young students and professors from Saint Petersburg University. He noted the two-year history of collaboration between the two universities and addressed new areas of cooperation, stating that the relationship has reached a critical and significant stage.
It is worth mentioning that this meeting was attended by the Shiraz University delegation: Dr. Ali Hafizi, Vice President for Research and Technology; Dr. Mohammad Hossein Sheikhi, Head of the Russia Desk at Shiraz University; Dr. Seyed Ahmad Fazelzadeh, Head of the Islamic World Science and Technology Citation Institute; and Engineer Mohammad Hossein Sherafat, Head of the Mining Engineering System of Fars Province. Various representatives from Saint Petersburg Mining University were also present, including Professor Litvinenko, President of Saint Petersburg Mining University; Dr. Rudakov, Vice President and Special Representative of the President; Dr. Lubin, Director of International Relations; and Dr. Kazanin, Head of the Engineering Faculty.
