The Faculty (Village) of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at Shiraz University has successfully obtained a license from the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology to operate as the country's first university technology village.
Dr. Hamed Dehghanpour, the head of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at Shiraz University, stated:
The technology faculty at Shiraz University has been launched based on the guidelines approved by the Council of Higher Education Development and Planning to create a foundation for the realization of knowledge-based economy, directing social capital towards technological businesses, expanding innovative ecosystems, and developing necessary infrastructures for the growth of knowledge-based activities in the agricultural, veterinary, and natural resources sectors.
According to him: The development of technology and knowledge-based economy in the field of agriculture and food security, increasing technological and knowledge-based companies in this sector, completing the value chain in the agricultural and veterinary sectors, developing transformative technologies in the food and agriculture sector, especially in the areas of smart farming and agricultural waste management, and supporting the fulfillment of technological needs in the agricultural sector (technologies related to seeds, tissue growth technology, seedling production, animal feed, etc.) are among the missions of this technology faculty.
