The office of the Vice Chancellor of Research and Technology is proud to announce the foundation of five new research centers at Shiraz University.
As reported by the University Public Relations liaison, the new research centers, which stem from the university's strategic research goals and address national and provincial exigencies, will benefit from Shiraz University's capacities as the main hub of research and innovation in southern Iran. The newly launched research centers include "The Center for the Development of Sensor Sciences and Technologies," "The Center for Mining Sciences and Technologies," "The Center for the Development of Fossil Energy Technologies," "The Center for the Development of Solar Energy Technologies," and "The Governance Research Center at Shiraz University."
Dr. Mohammadhadi Sadeghi, Shiraz University's Vice Chancellor of Research and Technology, appointed the following as the heads of these centers:
Dr. Javad Tashkhourian (Department of Chemistry, as the Head of the Center for the Development of Sensor Sciences and Technologies);
Dr. Mohammad Javaheri Tehrani (Department of Public and International Law, as the Head of the Governance Research Center);
Dr. Mohammadali Rajabzadeh (Department of Geology, as the Head of the Center for Mining Sciences and Technologies);
Dr. Mansour Kanani (Department of Materials Science and Engineering, as the Head of the Center for the Development of Solar Energy Technologies);
Dr. Mohammad Farsi (Department of Chemical Engineering, as the Head of the Center for the Development of Fossil Energy Technologies).
Dr. Sadeghi also appointed Dr. Mansour Tabiee, of the Department of Sociology, as the Head of "Shiraz University's Social Sciences Institute," which was established in 2004 and hosts three research centers specializing in demography, women's studies and youth studies.
