The Chancellor of Shiraz University appointed Dr. Abolfazl Jowkar (Associate Professor of Horticultural Sciences, College of Agriculture) as the Head of the Scientific & International Cooperation Center of Shiraz University.
In an appointment letter, Dr. Mohammad Moazeni stated:
"Respectfully, according to the level of commitment and competence of you, (based on section 10 of article 4 of the comprehensive guidelines for the management of universities and educational, research, and technological institutions), from 25/04/2023 you will be appointed as the Head of the Scientific & International Cooperation Center of Shiraz University for two years. I hope that with the collaboration and empathy of the esteemed management staff, you will be successful in accomplishing the following duties:
- Planning for the improvement of science and technology diplomacy and management of relations with scientific and international associations and unions;
- Serious follow-up of the compiling and implementing the "University Internationalization Act" and "Promoting the position of Shiraz University at the international level";
- Scheduled planning for the implementation of the agreements of Shiraz University with the world's top universities;
- Cultural enhancement and encouraging professors to develop international collaborations, especially within the framework of existing agreements;
- Thoughtful consideration of professors and students exchange at the international level, especially with neighboring countries;
- Attracting Iranian scientists abroad and persuading foreign graduates to apply for their postdoc at Shiraz University;
- Planning for attracting foreign students to continue their studies at Shiraz University;
- Introduction and promotion of the Islamic Iranian culture at the international level;
- Updating and improving the quality of the English section of the Shiraz University website.
Finally, The Chancellor of Shiraz University praised the efforts of Dr. Mohammad Saber Khaghani Nejad, the former head of the Scientific & International Cooperation Center of Shiraz University.
