In a ceremony attended by the president of Shiraz University and a group of professors and students, the largest replica of the periodic table of elements was unveiled at the Chemistry and Physics Hall of Shiraz University.

This table is made of completely natural elements by Student Scientific Association of the Chemistry Department of Shiraz University.

Dr Hadi Salari, a member of the chemistry faculty at the unveiling ceremony, said: 2019 was named by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) and the United Nations as the Year of the Periodic Table (IYPT 2019). For this reason, numerous programs were organized around the world.

He added: In our country, different events were held and in terms of number, most programs related to this issue were held at Shiraz University.

Professor Habib Firouzabadi, professor of chemistry at Shiraz University, at the unveiling of the country's largest periodic table at Shiraz University, said: The Department of Chemistry at Shiraz University is over 60 years old and the first PhD in Chemistry was launched at Shiraz University more than 30 years ago.

He addressed the students and young professors present at the meeting: It is essential to read the history of science in Iran and the world and to communicate with international scientific communities with understanding.
