The first joint degree at Shiraz University was successfully defended at the SU School of Veterinary, with the collaboration of Belgium’s Ghent University. Dr Fallah Shamsi, Head of the Academic & International Relations Centre, stated that this is the first time Shiraz University attempts for a joint degree with a profound university. He also added that this will improve the status of SU in international rankings and there are plans to have a similar approach in all faculties and schools.

Also, according to Dr Soltanian, Head of the SU Aquaculture Department and supervisor of this thesis, the University of Ghent places 125 among world leading universities and its veterinary is also considered one of the best throughout the world. He added that this research targeted the coping strategies and prevention of the most common diseases of aquatic animals, and its results can be worthwhile for the industry to harvest products in a sustainable manner.
