The first international joint laboratory of Shiraz University was established the other day at the presence of the Chancellor of Shiraz University and Municipal Officials of Fars Province. At this ceremony, which celebrated the cooperation of Shiraz University and Italy’s Italabs, Dr. H. Nadgaran, Chancellor of Shiraz University, was the first to speak.

Dr. Nadgaran first recalled the laboratory requirements needed at Shiraz University, insisting that the new approach to the establishment of laboratories have recognized these requirements and have implemented all considerations, just as this project between Shiraz University and Italabs. The Chancellor of Shiraz University also added that Italabs will provide us with about 60 million dollars worth of equipment and we are looking forward to establishing similar programs with other foreign counterparts.

Dr. A. Agostoni, the Manager of Italabs, also expressed his willingness to strengthen ties with Iranian counterparts for even greater projects which can also bring us closer together as two great nations.

A. Setayesh, who represents Italabs in Iran, pointed out that considering the capacities and opportunities that Iran provides, it is much better for these types of firms to do their business inside of Iran, instead of other countries in the Middle East and so this should be set as an objective for all scientific organizations.

Officials from the Municipality of Fars Province also insisted on the efforts made to increase such agreements with foreign organizations and reassured all guests that the Municipality of Fars Province is ready to do all that it takes for that matter.
